Protective Surveillance Services

— Tampa & Statewide Deployment

Discreet Observation. Early Detection. Strategic Response.

In environments where overt security isn’t practical—or when the threat is unknown—Protective Surveillance provides a low-profile, high-impact safety net. The Grafton Group’s surveillance teams monitor persons of concern or high-risk environments with precision and discretion.

When to Deploy Protective Surveillance

  • Concerns over stalking, harassment, or follow-home scenarios
  • Post-termination threats against executives or employees
  • During litigation, media exposure, or high-profile transitions
  • Events or venues where overt protection would be counterproductive
Choose The Grafton Group’s Protective Services for discreet, intelligence-driven security that prevents threats before they escalate. With over 40 years of proven experience in executive protection, surveillance, and threat management, we safeguard people, property, and reputation with precision and professionalism.

How Protective Surveillance Works

Behavioral Pattern Monitoring

Identify risk indicators before escalation

Undercover Presence

Low-visibility agents blend into environments while providing coverage

Real-Time Reporting

Secure comms and documented updates for client or legal use

Technical Support

Drone coverage, vehicle tracking, and OSINT augmentation when required

Grafton Group's agents blend with normal pedestrian behavior while maintaining line-of-sight on person or location of interest.

When the Threat Hides in Plain Sight

Protective Surveillance exists for situations where something is “off” but not yet actionable. By the time a threat is obvious, options are limited. Silent detection buys time, documentation, and decision space.

If your instincts are signaling a risk, you are early — and early is when protection works.

FAQs

Explore answers to the most common questions about our investigative services.

Is Protective Surveillance the same as traditional surveillance?

No. Traditional surveillance is usually investigative (evidence-gathering).
Protective Surveillance is preventive — the objective is early threat detection and intervention readiness, not building a legal case.

Will anyone know there is security present?

No. Agents are intentionally low-visibility and behaviorally neutral. They blend with the environment (pedestrians, patrons, staff, commuters, etc.) and do not carry visible indicators of security unless escalation requires it.

When is Protective Surveillance better than hiring an armed bodyguard or executive protection team?

Protective Surveillance is ideal when:

  • A threat is suspected but unconfirmed

  • Overt security would draw unwanted attention or escalate tension

  • A subject of concern should not know they’re being monitored

  • The environment (workplace, courtroom, event) requires discretion

This model allows early detection and proactive defense—without disruption or exposure.

Can you intervene if something happens, or do you only observe?

We do both. The standard model is:

  1. Observe and assess early indicators
  2. Communicate in real time with client or response element
  3. Intervene or hand off to uniformed protection/law enforcement as dictated by risk and authority

We do not simply “watch”—the purpose is to act before an incident becomes physical.

Can Protective Surveillance produce documentation for HR, litigation, or law enforcement?

Yes. Observations are documented in real time and can be formatted for:

  • Corporate HR decision support
  • Restraining order or legal filings
  • Evidentiary chain when appropriate
  • Post-incident threat assessments
Is this service only for executives and corporations?

No. We are frequently deployed for:

  • Individuals experiencing stalking or harassment
  • Attorneys and law firms during litigation or high-exposure events
  • Hospitals, campuses, homeowners’ associations, luxury residential property
  • Families during divorce, inheritance, or media-sensitive transitions

Risk is not limited to titles — it is driven by motive and access.

Considering Protective Surveillance?

When the threat hides in plain sight, silence is your greatest defense. The Grafton Group’s Protective Surveillance teams observe, analyze, and act before risk becomes reality. If you sense something isn’t right, trust the experts who see what others miss.
